South London ceramicist Judy DiBiase unveils The Women of Sewerby Hall, a powerful new installation now open at the stunning Sewerby Hall country house in Bridlington, Yorkshire.

Running through September, this deeply researched exhibit shines a light on the lives of women—both domestic staff and mistresses—who lived and worked at Sewerby Hall during the Edwardian era. DiBiase’s ceramic pieces tell their stories with text, imagery, and sculptural forms placed throughout the house.

Highlights include The Women’s Rights Tea Set, honouring a historic Suffragist visit, and The Mistress and the Maid, a striking dual-head sculpture exploring class and gender roles.

“I’m honoured to give voice to these untold stories,” says DiBiase. “Women’s contributions deserve to be remembered.”

The artist will also be delivering an in depth talk about her work at Sewerby Hall on Saturday 27 September at 2pm.
